MakeSplat MCP server

Turn a video into a 3D model without leaving your AI assistant. Connect MakeSplat to Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Cursor or any MCP client, ask for a 3D scan, and the assistant creates it, follows it and hands you the result: a Gaussian splat (.ply) you can orbit in the browser and use in 3D tools.

Server URL:

https://makesplat.com/mcp

You sign in with your MakeSplat account the first time you connect. New accounts get 1 free credit, enough for one Standard scan.

Connect it

Claude (web, desktop and mobile)

  1. Go to Customize > Connectors and click Add custom connector. On Team and Enterprise plans an Owner adds it in Organization settings > Connectors.
  2. Paste https://makesplat.com/mcp as the server URL and click Add.
  3. Click Connect, sign in to MakeSplat and allow access.

Claude Code

claude mcp add --transport http makesplat https://makesplat.com/mcp

Then run /mcp in Claude Code and sign in. Claude Code can upload a video file from your computer itself, so you never open a browser.

ChatGPT

With developer mode on (Settings, under Apps or Connectors, depending on your plan), create a connector with https://makesplat.com/mcp as the server URL and OAuth as the authentication, then sign in to MakeSplat when ChatGPT asks.

Cursor, VS Code and other MCP clients

Add a remote (Streamable HTTP) server with this URL. Clients that support OAuth open the MakeSplat sign-in on first use:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "makesplat": { "url": "https://makesplat.com/mcp" }
  }
}

With an API key instead of signing in

For agents, scripts and clients without OAuth, send a MakeSplat API key as a bearer token. Create a key in the dashboard; revoking it there disconnects every client that uses it.

claude mcp add --transport http makesplat https://makesplat.com/mcp \
  --header "Authorization: Bearer sk_live_your_key_here"

What to ask

How a scan goes

  1. The assistant checks your balance and tells you the price.
  2. It creates a scan and gives you its upload page. Open it, add your video (MP4 or MOV, up to 500 MB) and start processing; the price is on the button. Assistants that can read files, like Claude Code, upload the video themselves and start it once you agree to the price.
  3. Processing takes about 10 minutes (High takes longer). Ask the assistant whether it is done.
  4. When it is, you get a link to view the 3D model in your browser and a download link for the .ply file.

The best videos circle the subject slowly for 30 to 60 seconds, in even light. See how to film a video for Gaussian splatting.
